A Champion from León at the Children’s Games
Celia Pulido was a worthy representative of León at the 2018 International Children’s Games, winning both gold and silver medals.
León, Guanajuato – One of the top athletes from León today is swimmer Celia Pulido, currently the fastest in Mexico for the 50-meter backstroke, and a member of the Mexican team set to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Throughout her career, Celia Pulido represented León at the 2018 International Children’s Games held in Jerusalem, where she won a gold medal in the 50-meter backstroke and a silver medal in the 200-meter backstroke.
Celia is a talent that emerged from the Enrique Fernández Martínez Sports Complex of COMUDE León. She discovered her love for swimming during a Summer Course when she was just a child and later joined the Beginner Schools, where she was identified to represent León and Guanajuato in national competitions.
With over 15 medals to her name, Celia is a historic multi-medalist in the National Olympiad, now known as the CONADE Nationals. She has also achieved international success, including a bronze medal at the South American Swimming Championships in Buenos Aires in 2020 and another bronze at the Junior Pan American Games 2021 in Cali, Colombia, in the 4×100 and 100-meter backstroke events.
